End of the Year Update

As the end of the year winds down, the work continues here at Hospital Yojoa. Earlier this month, several of our team members had the opportunity to attend the Global Missions Health Conference in Louisville, KY. There, we were able to meet with many healthcare professionals who are interested in serving in medical missions and share with them about the future of Hospital Yojoa. We pray that God will continue to send the personnel needed to help support this project.

Back in Honduras, we continue to wait on our environmental license. After months of feasibility studies, surveys of the land, and staking out building sites, the application has been submitted to the local and federal governments of Honduras. We are grateful to have a team of Honduran lawyers and engineers advising and helping out our missionary architect. As soon as our environmental license is approved we look forward to breaking ground and beginning the construction of Hospital Yojoa!

On the medical front, we continue to work on building relationships within the Honduran medical system. It is important to us that Hospital Yojoa collaborates well with the system already in place. In September, several of our team members had the opportunity to meet with the Honduran Medical College to present to them the Hospital Yojoa project. Additionally, our team members have spent time visiting the largest public hospitals in the country in order to better understand their capacities and get to know our Honduran colleagues in those institutions.

Our fundraising efforts for the hospital continue! Our phase one goal for Hospital Yojoa is to raise $5 million. We are currently at $1.3 million! We are so thankful for those of you individuals and foundations who have given toward this cause! As we approach the end of the year, would you like to make a contribution toward Hospital Yojoa? If so, click here to learn more about ways to give.

As always, we cherish your prayers! Please continue to pray for wisdom and unity for our team. Pray that our hospital environmental license would be approved rapidly so that we can begin building. Pray over the preparations of our team members who will be joining us over the course of the next year.

Blessings,

The Hospital Yojoa Team
