Hospital Development Plan
Located approximately midway between the two most populous cities in the country, the Yojoa region consists of several rural mountain villages surrounding the largest freshwater lake in Honduras. Hospital Yojoa will fill a critical need for acute care services within the region. Currently there are no public hospital facilities within a 100 kilometer radius of Yojoa.
Hospital Yojoa will be built in phases, with the final phase being a 100-150 bed facility which will provide a labor and delivery, operating room suites, wound and fracture care, specialty clinic, an emergency department, and an intensive care unit. The hospital will be staffed by both national employees and expatriate missionaries.
One of the primary focuses of the hospital is to become a teaching center training both Hondurans and expatriate missionaries to provide quality medical care not only to Hondurans, but to the rest of Latin America and the world beyond.
